I just think the synth track debacle leads one to question the mainly West Coast contingent. The other factor of so many speed horses compromising the chances of Big Brown and last years champ, War Pass, that I'm still looking\

I'm glad Atoned is in. Maybe it will help give us a little better read on the Illinois Derby. Too bad it is a turf race.

Having liked his Remsen and Tampa Bay Derby efforts, and given his running style, I gave Atoned a longshot chance to hit the board in the Derby, if he was able to get in. I wouldn't care for him if he were to run in the Lexington and back in the Derby in two weeks. He hasn't been mentioned as a Lexington prospect until just now; this looks like a desperation move by Dogwood to try to get him to "qualify" for the Derby.
