Women's basketball is so inferior its not even close.
But... the women are on the whole, a heck of a lot
better now than 15 years back. Progress has been made.
Nonetheless:

The truth is women are just not athletic enough to make play
on a 10 foot basket interesting. I can count the number of tip
ins on one hand I have seen in the WNBA. They get much
less lift on their jump shots, so the better long range shooters
are basically set shooters. Very stilted shots in many cases.

It is not asthetically pleasing to watch. My daughter, who will actually
play in an All-Star game this Saturday, would much rather
watch the men play. The Boys All-Star game will be packed. I will get
an excellent seat in the girls game. My daughter has no illusions about ability. She has played against boys. They are too strong, too quick, you name it.
The only thing the girls might be equal is in hand-eye coordination,
but even in this their reaction time is significantly slower.

Now in Golf and Tennis women can have beautiful strokes and
swings, it still looks good. Basketball allows the athlete to display pure
athleticism more than any other team sport. So it follows that
women just dont look as good playing the game.

That being said I am almost certain my daughter could
take the Cannon off the dribble. Feed the ball into Cannon
down low, and my daughter is a pancake.

When I was a senior in High School, I was the captain of the girls bball team, but I got a bad injury right before the season started and had to sit it out. When I recovered, I would play ball with the guys (we would play pick up games in the gym). Now I'm a big girl, I was 5'9 like 165 mostly muscle at the time, and there was this one guy I could dominate! Granted he was a bit of a wuss but I would throw elbows and score from the paint, and out rebound him! It was so much fun cause all the guys would make fun of him because he would elbow me back!

even with that I cant stand to watch girls basketball, just fun to play!

I watched the last few minutes of the Stanford v Tenn semi-final game. Tenn score to go up 1 with like 1.2 seconds to go. Stanford had to go the length of the court to have a shot at winning. The woman inbounding the ball could barely throw it to half court. At that point, Standford had zero chance of winning because the woman could not throw the ball that far.

This is exactly why they dont have a 10 second rule to cross half-court. If the women press on D, they cant throw a long ball to an open player unless it is a bloop pass. The game would be totally dominated by pressing. You would get 10 second calls and constant turnovers. (This is actually why my daughter was valuable at HS level. She could see the floor and dribble equally well with both hands, and was able to break presses easily as a Point, her niche.)

They also cant just lob a ball up on a break and expect a finish from a big girl. I will say the women have gotten a whole lot better fundamentally. But it really is painful to watch a game that was meant for really athletic people played by mediocre athletes. If they made the basket 9 ft., shortened the length of the court, and played 4 on 4, the women's game would look better.
