Hello lostcode,

Just wondering if you think Fairgrounds is polytrack because it isn't

I meant to say that Circular Quay won at the Fairgrounds when he got off Poly. What I'm seeing is that these horses are improving off the poly. Trainers like Mark Casse and John Shirreefs have been saying for the past 2 or three months that the poly horses are going to be fitter. Now again it's horse racing, not every horse is going to improve or like both surfaces. That's why we watch the races.....and bet on them.

i'm lost as to why a poly surface would make a fitter horse.

A trend I've noticed with horses going from synthetic to dirt is that they tire, especially when they go the same distance as their last race on the synthetic. So this horse goes an extra panel on dirt? And at a fairly short price that will definitely have major action in the exotics? No thahnks.

I'm curious about the BSF awarded to Colonel John. I really don't follow the California poly circuit - are final times out there really, in general, that much faster than elsewhere?
