How good is Big Brown?

i think some people who seem to be jumping on his bandwagon will be elsewhere after the next prep. we see that part of it every year. a few weeks ago pyro was the big deal, especially after war pass threw in his clunker. but pyro hasn't been seen in a few weeks.

hard to say what to think of big brown. he ran well at 9f yesterday-but still plenty of questions about him-others as well of course. but his soundness is an issue, and i would think his ability to remain fit would be affected by that-as well as his ability to run at churchill. like moss said, that track is unkind to bad feet.

Was wondering the same thing myself... I had heard the opposite of Churchill's surface.

A bunch of nonsense that because the CD track on Derby day typically yields fast times throughout the card that it must be like a paved road and thus horses without the toughest of feet get exposed over it.

Big Brown may come up four feet short of the Kentucky Derby -- as in his four hooves. Bad feet have stopped many horses through the years.

Yea, Kent D. looked very tired after the race and not sure he can handle the Derby distance. After the interview I swear he was limping as he walked away.
