IMO, Prado is good, but he isn't as good as Gomez. If Prado was better than Gomez, he would be beating him on the money earned list.

To me, denying that Gomez is the best jockey at this point is like denying that Todd Pletcher is the best trainer.

I have not participated in the KRIM bashing to this point, but you have to stop with this drivel. How does money earned make you the best jock?

Here is my example. Quite often going into the 3YO campaign, one of the leading money earners will be the winner of the fraud of a race called the Delta Jackpot. Here is the list of fantastic horse flesh that has conquered that task.

How many of these "leading money earners" would you consider the best?

Gomez spends half of the year in California racing against kids and east coaster like Mike Smith who needed to get away from the East so they could win a few races. And those so called Grade 1 and Grade 2 races with four, five and six horse fields (this weekend excluded), do more to pad his earnings than actual ability. Funny that Gomez even pads the earnings at Delta (2007).

Gomez certainly is at the top of the jockey list, but he is certainly not in a league of his own, and money earned really has nothing to do with it.
