When I was a kid I had a friend who talked non-stop about Duane Kuiper.

Kuiper perfected the slapshot dying quail to short left field...were the left fielder was always waiting.

Kuiper's home run was long before Stone won the Cy Young. It is quite simplistic in all honesty. With a better supporting cast, the Kuiper Indians would have won 3 or 4 World Series'. His bad teammates held him down. If his teammates would have held up their load and hit .340-.360, it would have all been fine. His job was to stop ground balls...it was the rest of the team that couldn't do all the other things that killed them.

Prior to LeBron he was the top professional athlete in Cleveland.

Back on topic, I believe this Santana signing ended Sabathia's run in Cleveland. I am sure they offered something similar to the Twins' Santana offer in the 4 year range and it was turned down. (This is why the Yanks and Red Sox didn't pull the trigger on Santana...Sabathia is their's after '08 if they want him...and cheaper than Santana as well.)

...after recent beatdowns of Peralta, Sizemore, and LBJ I'm sure Mortimer's crucifiction of the 300lb lefty is soon to follow!!!
