He is representing the UNIVERSITY which happens to be a Catholic University. If they feel like he makes their University look bad, then why can't they do something to him?

Hoss, lets just imagine that someone works for you. Lets say that someone went out on record saying he is against certain things that were high beliefs of yours. Would that piss you off a little seeing as how your putting food on his table?

Irish, it doesn't work that way in the real world. I'm just as catholic as you are, but this is a clear case of hypocrisy. How many employers really care about their employees stance on abortion?

Ok, I see what you are saying, but the only one who can decide what is done about it is the University, and it is their right to do whatever they please.

They won't fire him, and I don't think any action will be taken. I don't think any action should be taken either, but it is not up to me nor anyone else.

Hey ND,why don't you tell us what you think Christ would do to him(for being for abortion rights.)Would he fire him,because his group is paying the bills? Is that the way he would do it? I don't think so,and so why would you want something representing Christ to do something Christ wouldn't do? They should have probably asked him his views BEFORE they hired him. If they would have a problem with his beliefs, the time to find that out is beforehand. Now, if they had come to him and said something like "it's your right to believe how you want to but publicly, we don't ever want you to express views opposite of ours", that would be different. But short of that, I don't think that the university would have any legal legs to stand on as far as any kind of reprimand for his comments. In fact, I am thinking that if they acted at all, they would be the ones facing legal action.
