Oh jesus.

I know for a fact that the owners of these horses have final say in these sort of matters. Doesn't matter what f'in country the horse is racing in.

Sure, the HKJC might have put a bit of pressure on them, but that is as far as they can legally go.

If the owners had took them to court about this, the HKJC and Cruz wouldn't have had a leg to stand on.

Sorry, but it's a no brainer.

You know, I've tried to back off of this thread and only updated cause he had a swim and i was happy..... a little bit of normalcy for the old guy, you know? I love this horse. Breaks my heart knowing he's in that polluted stall instead of having a break somewhere nice like a lot of them get to do.....

Bullish Luck, for God sake. National treasure and he doesn't get a proper break. Sad.

This idiocy though..... you can't have it both ways.

You constantly make the HKJC out to be a bunch of villains, you and your "They're Mafia" posts.

WHICH IS IT?

You're saying what here, over and over.... they're suddenly not mafia but the good guys in all of this?

You seriously believe they did not put pressure on those people, on the De Silva's?

I NEVER pretend to know anything i don't.

You pm'd me once, saying something about studying HK racing in college? Tell me about your class... tell us all.

I'll tell you one thing though..... the friends I've made over there who answer questions and tell me stories, who know that for some weird reason this has become my passion, these beautiful old geldings who are snubbed in much of the international racing community?

They've told me differently and sorry but i will take their word over anybodys. period.

Oh, and they are NOT Mafia.

Tony Cruz was the winningest jock turned winningest trainer, wildly popular, very successful... damned right they wanted the bright star of HK to go out with a win and with that in mind, supported him.

After all, he was the king of HK... why wouldn't they?

Bad choices do not make them bad people, but Cruz..... just happened a few times too many and Silent Witness was NOT the first.

That's the reason for my anger.

* * *

edit - For his fans..... he went swimming again today.

You're getting pissy with me for something Gallant brought back up?

I know you care for the horse, did I ever say anywhere that you didn't? Didn't think I did.

If you read my post again, I said the HKJC probably did put pressure on the owners, but that is as far as they can legally go. They are the owners...... jeez!

I didn't say the HKJC were the good guys. Where on earth did that come from.

I understand what you're saying, ofcourse Cruz and the HKJC wanted SW to keep racing and go out with a win, but at the end of the day it's the the owners who make the final decision. Just like it was them who decided not to get the horse properly checked out when he suffered from that virus.

Oh, and by the way before I get even more of my words mixed around.

I'm glad that Bullish Luck has been swimming again.
