He signed the extension to keep the team focused on the NC game. Which is naive to think that the media won't figure out the buyout is still in the extension.
I really don't care either way...well...yeah I care. I want him to leave so I can rib you and Cajun to death for all the **** DD and I took for Saban leaving Miami. |

i love how i get called naive when i have an opposing view. wish i had a dollar....
i just hope that all coaches aren't the same lying snakes in the grass as saban. and of course every one of them gets a sideways look now, due to ol nick. i made the mistake of believing him when he said he was set on staying in miami. so i REALLY hope i'm not wrong again. of course petrino doesn't help the whole coaching and ethics thing either. |

i think his naivete would have more to do with thinking a call with michigan officials, if innocent as he claims, wouldn't be latched onto by the press. and a lot of coaches are dirty and filthy, but surely not all of them? i guess the problem is that enough of them are, so all of them get looked at sideways. |

it is a shame that so many coaches only view their current job as the stepping stone to their next one.
too few joe paternos around these days. i wasn't sure what les would do a few weeks ago, but i felt confident after his sec-day press conference. i got a lot of grief here, at work, and my husband did as well, for saying he was staying. turned out well in the end. it's funny, all these hawg fans that we told 'wait til petrino does you like he has every one else' said 'well, les is leaving, you'll be looking for a coach too'. one, they were wrong, and two, two wrongs wouldn't have made it right. |

I ( gag) have to say ...you were correct in saying he will stay. But I shan't ever forgive you for it. |

i still think he is going to michigan. had he lost the SECC game this would be all over by now. i don't think it's about money, it's about playing to win the NC. these coaching searches have gotten ridiculous. Bama got beat up last year for it. well michigan and arky fans, how's it feel now? don't laugh to hard domers because you'll go through it again next year after weis gets fired.

just found this on espn, about petrino--by forde, who apologizes to nick saban in the article! nothing like seeing someone write an article that jibes completely with your own thoughts. |

it's a shame that the athletes have restrictions regarding transferring, but coaches can do what they want, when they want. they should be made to wait til post season...an athlete has to wait to make a move, or hire an agent, or announce for the draft, etc. if coaches had to wait to negotiate til the entire season was over, you wouldn't have all this mid season bs going on, or messing up bowl games, etc. but then, the schools do it, so they suffer when it's done to them as well. no honor among thieves. |
