true he wasnt the same last year. but not getting along with your coaches and wanting out, can effect your mindset and to then not start thinking about the job at hand and not give a **** how your pitching from night to night-could be part of the problem.

i'm sure hes lost some but if he turns back in to form just a little to help out. thats all we need.

his age won't matter to us, we want him for this year only not 4 years down the road like cordero.

we want these guys besides riske to just one of them return to form for us for a year. thats it. these guys arn't staying beyond a year if they dont produce besides riske

what other options do the brewers have throw money on long term relief contracts? i say add torres to the rest and lets see what we got

i know his alligence to the mets is unwavering even after retirment. hell he might still be playing for the mets for free if they let him. but tell ol franco he's invited with goose to if he can break this love affair him and the mets had for each other for sooooooooooo many years. well beyond what he should have stayed.

If you say this about Torres, the same can be said for Wise.
Plus, we don't even know what's in Torres head. He almost retired after being told of the trade.

with that money out there he is not going to retire.

he may have wanted to go to a different team, i have not heard nothing in any of the reports ive read that he was unhappy with this trade but just glad to get the hell out of pitt.

he'll calm his ass down once in milwaukee or to the back side of the bullpen your butt goes if this happens to be true.

we will see. still like the idea of him coming to see if he can rekindle something for at least a year.

Here's a couple of articles.

First article.
http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/07342/840202-63.stm

This was actually posted in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinal
http://blogs.jsonline.com/brewers/ar...reporting.aspx

Now the Mets are looking at non-tendering Estrada, showing that the trade of Mota was just to get the 3.2million off their books.

we knew all along estrada was not going to be the mets catcher-not when they are looking at 2 others a week after-mets wanted to dump sal and brew wanted to get rid of a renegade to thier coaching staff.

thanks for the postings!!!

is considering retirement as much as he is considering reporting to the Brewers- good sign that its not that he doesnt want to be in milwaukee!

His reason: He is uncertain how a move will affect his family, which lives year-round in the North Hills.- at least not unhappy coming to milwaukee yet!

If I go to Milwaukee, I'm going to give my heart and soul to the Brewers," he said.- this is what i want to hear!!!!!! sign him up if he retires thats part of the game."

I think it's all the emotion right now," Brewers general manager Doug Melvin said last night. "When he talked to Jack, he said he was thrilled to be coming to the Brewers. I'm hoping he gets over this. All indications he gave Jack were that he wanted to come."- well all brewer fans can do is hope he doesnt retire and return to his form in 2004-2006

these are the reasons you take chance with this guy!!!!!!

He was one of Major League Baseball's most effective and durable middle relievers in 2004-06

But, after an offseason in which he admittedly failed to get into peak shape for 07

If I go to Milwaukee, I'm going to give my heart and soul to the Brewers," he said.

all you can do is take him for his word .if so maybe a turnaround if he doesnt retire

2nd article sry just read the first thinking they were going to have same info didn't realize-

Just got back from the Eric Gagne press conference at Miller Park. General manager Doug Melvin was feeling really good about his bullpen because not only does he have Gagne as his closer,

Salomon Torres told him today he would report instead of retiring.

The fact that Kevin Mench was designated for assignment, on the heels of allowing Geoff Jenkins to become a free agent, tells you that the Brewers have something else in mind for LF. Look for them to pick up an outfielder or acquire a third baseman and move Ryan Braun to LF. I'm starting to get some vibes on Texas third baseman Hank Blalock

that would be nice to get blalock!!!!!

first glance was mmmm....further review

59 ab's in 07 - reason-rib removed -no problemo

LOL so you already have gagne penciled in as thier closer.

don't be so sure about that.

just cause melvin said that 2 days ago. he said last week turnbow was our closer and gagne was insurance.

that closers roll could go to anybody who can step up in spring training and show they have the balls to take what it needs to get the job done.

i hope you know that win might be the only one they get from milwaukee-okay maybe a couple of others-don't get to excited
