This alternative of getting hi-priced whores (to the rescue) needs to be done by somebody with real skills.Yankees f'd it up.Dodgers f'd it up.Boston hit lotto with it......I prefer to do it like the Padres have done it.Sign team guys that can pitch.Don't be an a-hole like Podesta, and and get rid of team players that want to play for you.Don't be like that a-hole,and sign a drunk(LOWE,) A WANNABE motorcycle cop(Kent,) and a bitch loner(Drew.)

As a Yankee fan it is hard for me to admit that Boston really didn't go the whore way as much as you would think. Youkillis, Pedroiza, Varitek, Ellsbury, Papelbon, Lester and a couple of more are home grown guys (Varitek might have ben a trade). Manny was a big ticket item from a few years ago (who has been put on waivers a few times). Anyone could of had Ortiz. They traded some gems for Beckett. Dice-K was a whore moved that paid off. You would think that he will just get better. J.D. Drew stinks and Gange is a shell of his old self. Those are the only marginal whore moves that they made. I do not think that Lugo and Crisp are good enough to be considered whores. Lowell was always a solid player, he thrived in that lineup with those monsters hitting around him. They also have some young arms for the future. I really do not think of them as a whore team.

SCHILLING is bought.Hey,they are getting them to perform. They don't perform in a lot of cities.I can't believe the Dodgers would spend any more on these whores. The Latin ones ,maybe. They like it more here than the others.AROD is too much dough.I really don't know what else they can do to pay for that. What are they gunna do? Charge $10 for a bag of peanuts?

Schilling is a winner and a competitor. That's the difference with him. I do not know what the Dodgers usually draw, but A-Rod would put some fannys in the seats. I do that think if A-Rod ends up in Cali, it is going to be with the Halo's not the Dodgers. Also there has been alot of talk about A-Rod and Torre, some tend to believe that A-Rod doesn't have the greatest feelings about Torre since he batted 8th against the Tigers last year. Who knows? I think the Halos are the early favorite followed by the Mets and I do not count the Yanks out yet. You never know with that organization.

That's a lot of money for the Halos to spend on one guy,but they probably need him the most.Dodgers can't afford anymore bad signings. The very 1st thing the Dodgers need to do is to get Kent to retire.Just go take a motorcycle apart, and get lost.No way we can have that cancer around anymore. We don't have the talent to overcome that kind of bad chemistry that he brings to teams. What would the Mets do with the 3rd baseman they got?

Wright said that he would move to first base if he had to. I still can't believe that he won a gold glove, he make a lot of tough plays. But it seems that he makes a lot of errors on the routine ones. The move that they would probably make is moving Reyes to second. Hell if they could move him to second for Kaz Matzui (who was absolutley awful during his time at shea) then they could move him for the best player in the game.
As far as Jeff Kent goes, you are spot on about him being a cancer in the locker room. I vaguely remember a story about him when he was with the Mets. It was on of those late season pranks. I do not remeber if it was the whole team or not? But it involved someone on the team taking his street clothes and replacing it with a dress. I know the Yanks haze the rookies that way on the last road trip every year. But Kent went nuts, he even went to the media with it. You could see right there that this wasn't a big TEAM guy.
I was just looking at the Dodgers stats and you are right they need a huge infusion of offense. When 20 HR's and 87 Rbi's are the top offensive numbers for a team, your pitching better be tremendous (see D'Backs). Obviously getting nothing out of Schmidt was huge, Loiaza is a retread and Wells should hang em up. Penny was very good and I personally like Wolf (he always pitched well when I saw him). I personally have never like Derek Lowe. I think he pitched his best during the biggest tittle run in the history of baseball (2004 Red Sox). He was tremendous when the whole world was watching and then he cashed in for it. I think he is a mutt. Saito seems solid, I like Proctor, but the rest of the pen seems suspect (Proctor included).
It does seem that they have youth on there side. Gonzalez won't be back, maybe they can get Jose Guillen (although he does fit in that Milton Bradley category). Maybe trade Nomar for an arm, sign a guy like Jeff Cirillo for a year or two. The offense needs to be upgraded, it seems like they have a few arms (if they can stay healthy). I am guessing that the Rockies are the favorites for the west next year. I do not think the D'backs can do it again the way that they did it last year (winning 2-0 every game). The Giants stink and I do not know what the problem with the Padres are (I thought they were the best team in the west). 90 wins got 2 teams from the west into the playoffs, can the Dodgers with the right moves make up the 8 that they lost by?
