Sesamoid injury to the front left leg. Ambulanced off of Keeneland's grounds, headed to Rood + Riddle Equine Hospital. The fracture did not puncture the skin. VERY good thing.

They are reporting multiple fractures of the sesamoid (though I dont know who has the xray eyes)
Multiple is a very bad word as the sesamoid is a fairly small bone

Tberg was a steward scratch on 9/15 at Turfway. Now Jeanine Edwards reports that people at Keeneland were saying he did not look like his old self recently. It appears Sanders will be under heavy scrutiny because of this event. She has been heavily criticized on this board throughout the career of Tberg.

A stewards scratch is much different than a vet scratch

How much difference is there? I see how the vet can stratch a horse; he is right there looking at it. How (and what reasons) would a steward stratch a horse?

Also, really sad to hear about Dream of Angels. Feelings go out to the horse and his connections.

Hope Teuflesberg turns out okay.

There a lot of reasons, owner, trainer not licensed, foal papers not on file, wrong shoes, ownership disputes, late to paddock, late shipping, etc.

If there's been the owner/trainer issues(of the non-schizophrenic variety considering she's one of the owners) like I've heard I bet that was it.

Do we think someone at Keeneland commented to try to deflect from the disastrous mess that was today's card thus far with 3 life threatening situations?

Most of those you posted I had heard of, but the 'late to paddock' is a new one on me. Makes sense when the stewards do scratch one 10 minutes to post. Interesting.

Thanks for the info.
