There is ambitious and downright stupid. I'm sorry, but what can a horse possibly be getting out of being raced over it's head? She was darn lucky that Teuf came back the way he did after he 'hit the wall' in the Derby, other horses have never been the same.

She certainly is not the first trainer to put a horse in the Derby that didn't belong...You could argue that she's done a good job getting him back to win the Woody Stephens and place in the Carry Back after the Derby where many others have gone down the crapper.

what an understatement. take for example in the first race at Keeneland on Friday. She's running Furlong Baby, a horse that has run against straight maidens four times at CD, Bel, and Saratoga. The horse has never been a factor at any point in those races. the finish beaten lengths are 15, 20, 15, 28. So Friday she goes long against straight maidens at Keeneland? the result will be the same, a double digit defeat. i know nothing about training a horse, but you don't have to be a Charlie Whittingham to see that she continuously runs her horses in spots where they can't win.

I can't argue that the winning percentage is dreadful. I just think she gets beaten up more than the average trainer, especially one with as little experience as she has.

she has got some decent horses and has sent out 229 starters this year. its not like she is some start-up trainer working with a limited number of hand-me-downs.
her stats are called into question because they are not anywhere near average and it stands out. I don't consider that beating up on her its merely pointing out her record.
i see that she owns Furlong Baby so at least she answers only to herself for the performance. but if i'm an owner sending her horses you better believe i'd be asking some questions.

i drew a line right thru one of hers at arlington...once you figure that one for last, the super was almost easy. didn't pay much tho, i guess everyone has the toss the sanders angle down.
