Yeah, just like last years final week n' a half.He is pretty good in GARBAGE TIME.Not nearly as good in August, and the 1st part of September(when they needed it last year, and same this year.) Either he doesn't like the heat and/ or the pressure of the race in August.Actually I think it's the heat.He was great the 1st game after the break last year(it was Tampa..of course,)
but the following Wednesday he got destroyed(didn't last long at all) on a hot day game in Anaheim.Did so-so the rest of July, but he was torn apart in August, and destroyed in 1st inning against Texas (with 2 weeks to go in season.) They had to have that game against Texas. They had to keep the deficit behind the A's at the same #,or there simply wasn't gunna be any reality of a race existing.Hot day in Dallas, and they ripped him up.He padded his #s the last 2 starts (after the Texas mess.)He is pretty good when the race is decided.

We are talking about John Lackey not Juan Pierre

YEAH...where the f was LACKEY IN AUGUST LAST YEAR?? Giving it up.That's where he was. The ace wasn't there, and because of that ,they came into September behind by quite a bit. Bad start against Seattle.Bad start against Texas. They needed those games badly. He wasn't getting it done when they had to have it.

He came into August last year at 10-6.On September 16 he couldn't get an out against Texas, and fell to 11-11.Sorry,but I ain't ever gunna forget this guy laying down under the pressure of his team needing to win to stay close to the A's.He failed under that pressure.

"Angels starter John Lackey (11-11) lasted only four innings, allowing six runs and 10 hits."

"It just got kind of rolling downhill and I couldn't stop it," Lackey said.

The Rangers jumped on Lackey for a four-run first before he was able to register an out.-9-16-06

He was hurting. He is healthy now. Deal with it.

It's bullshit.September 16th-2006.....He got shelled. This is after Oakland beat the Chisox earlier in the day.The Halos needed that game,or else they were in trouble. He failed, but 7 days later he was just fine against Oakland.Gave up one hit. This was to deny Oakland from clinching.Big difference in pressure. They had to have the game on the 16th.He failed miserably. One week later (the race is over) he has no pressure on him to win.The A'S CAN WIN THE DIVISION WITH JUST ONE MORE WIN.He gives up just 1 f'n hit....o.k.? If he was so sick and hurting on 9/16/06,then why is he giving up just 1 hit a week later? Hurting? Bullshit..He had no pressure on 9/23/06,and decided to deny the A's the inevitable(on his watch.)

When the HALOS had to have this guy win games(in August and early -mid september 2006) to deal with a hot A'S team,he wore skirt. As soon as the race was decided,he found his game, and gave up just 1 hit.He was hurting? bullshit..he was under pressure to win.Oakland put him under pressure each start, and he gave it up.

John Lackey in the postseason ( a little pressure...)

2-1 3.26 era (not too bad for 8 games)

I put money down relying on him in the 2nd half last year.He wasn't there for me when I was watching the A's win damn near every game in August. They were tied going into August, but he was crap in August. He should have lost a game against Seattle too...They ran him out of there in like the 4th or 5th inning.I got the memories.I know exactly what happened, and he did it in August this year, but not nearly as awful as last year(when the A's were pressuring him to win.)
