That decision certainly baffled me but I have to imagine if Asmussen did that he doesn't think the horse is done and wouldn't have waited so long to rule out the Travers with him. While you could certainly be right I think the horse will run well here.

I see what you're saying but I think he may have just been looking for a Travers horse since he wasn't planning on bringing Curlin. . . I thought Tiz Wonderful was going to win the derby after his two year old season but now wouldn't be suprised if they retire him and send him to stud in antartica or something. . .

I think he could have brought Zanjero if he was just reaching for a Travers horse, unless winning the Penn Derby was a major goal for him.

Well the Penn Derby had a $1 million purse and no Street Sense. . .
