I expect the Indian invader to be favored. There isn't a whole lot to beat in there.

MMSC wouldn't say it, but i will. That picture was racist and i hope it is removed from this thread.

This horse is pretty useful, and wouldn't be out of it's depth in many of the top turf races in America.

A few years ago i said that India would soon be a force to be reckoned with in international Horseracing and at the moment they are going the right way in proving me right. They are slowing building up a base of very wealthy owners and soon, i predict them to be competeing at the very highest level (especially in Dubai).

I for one hope it smokes the field at Arlington.

It must just shut a few people up.

He'll be getting a nice weight break today. He's been carrying between 132 and 136 in India. 118 today.

You're right.

I wouldn't say it because it was wrong on so many levels.....

Oh and the comment about taking a stand against and outsourcing?

Okay right... I forgot that is THIS horses fault so lets all take it out on him.

Jesus.

This is racing. This is about racing.

Talk about sportsmanship... the planning and frustration and cost and stress and everything else involved to get this horse over here and there's a little joke or "joke" that shows Ugly American Syndrome at it's finest? You who would not only stereotype but belittle a true icon to millions around the world as well.....

It makes me sick.

I'm with MyMissStormCat and NoChanceto Dance on this one. The picture is the sort of racist crap that we don't need in this country and certainly don't need on this site.
And by the way, if people can't understand why posting that picture and saying that it is a picture of the horse's trainer is racist......I would suggest they figure out what actually constitutes racism. It doesn't only exist in the KKK.

Was an attempt at humor but you're right it was bad form. I apologize to those offended.

I guess it's the result of my feelings on the vast wave of jobs that have been lost in this country by huge corporations that will do everything to squeeze a greater profit at the expense of the American worker....and several calls to US Air and ending up talking to someone in India that has not a clue how to pronounce most statses as well as properly serve the customer.

Sorry,

Spyder

Thank you for the apology.

I did find the picture of very bad taste.

The American racing fan better used to foreign horses coming over and taking your prize money, and not just from England and Ireland.

Everyone laughs when they see a horse from India, but everyone used to laugh at horses from Hong Kong and Japan, but now people run scared of them.

Everyone has to start from somewhere. In the next 10 years, you'll see many top horses coming from the likes of India and even Turkey (yes, you read it right, i did say Turkey). They are up and coming countries in this game, and if the big racing countries around the world dismiss them as has been done before many of us could look like complete fools.

I understand that the outsourcing of jobs is annoying, but that is our fault not theirs. We want to do no work for as much money as possible, we are greedy. They take what they can get, and for that, i applaud them. I play cricket with a few indian stable lads, not only will they do anything for you if you ask, but they are the most reliable people i know and fantastic horsemen also.

You could be right, and no problem if you are.

In the immediate future however, the gambler and handicapper in me says toss 'em from your wagers at American tracks.

For the record, I watched the race today without a wager, hoping the horse would show well.

And further for the record, I thought Mr. Frisky had a great shot at winning the Kentucky Derby some years back.

You live and learn.

Someone told me privately that you're a decent type and I'm glad to find out for myself that you are.

There's enough hatred in the world... you know? So anything i see as an attack or disrespect, borderline racism etc.... I just have to call the person on it.

Racing is about the horses and so is without borders, to me anyway. That sounds cliche but i can't think of another way to word it.

I do understand that you meant it as humor... I'm not humorless..... but thank you for understanding that it bothered me, why it bothered me, and for taking the time to respond.

There is nothing racist about making fun of Ghandi. Lighten up. Your response is what drives the "racist" mentality. I am sure that I am not a racist but oddly found humor in the picture. It is a funny picture. It may have been in poor taste but that is not a crime.
