I want to give Baze the benefit of the doubt, but I am having a hard time doing that. I think he got distracted by the wire. He knew something went wrong, but the horse changed leads and he thought that he could keep him together for another 50 yards. When really the horse should have been pulled up immediatley, reguardless of the odds or track position.

others are suggesting he didn't care about this horse since it was an 8k claimer--is it lack of caring for a cheap horse, or greed? it can't be both.
