Well, why did Leparoux not ride Cosmonaut three of the last four races? I don't think you can look much into Leparoux riding Linda's Lad over Cosmonaut. Leparoux could have been desparate for a mount this race.

Prado is friends with one of the owners that Biancone trains for so that may have something to do with it but I'm not sure if said owner owns Cosmonaut. . .
