at least they'll make a major bowl because of the cupcake schedule they play.

I am a Buckeye, and will forever be, but a #11 ranking is way too high. It is going to be a long, long year in Columbus, and I can only hope it will not be a continuation of the National Championship game.

College Football is the biggest bullshit there is. I will become a serious fan once they wake up and go to a playoff type environment, 16 teams, 4 weekends (8-4-2-1)

The Big East has three teams ranked in the top 16. The Big 12 has 2. The SEC has 4. The Pac 10 has 3, The Acc has 1, The Big 10 has 3. I think the Big East is just fine. LSU plays a very fortunate schedule this year in that all of it's tough games are at home. I give them credit for playing Va. Tech because some of the other SEC schools seem to be content with cupcake city outside of the league schedule.

also funny how cupcake schedules are decried. they ALL play them. difference is in the big games, and the SEC is thought by most to be the toughest conference. with good reason!
a certain team was mentioned last year as deserving being named national champs as they went undefeated. they beat exactly one ranked team all year, in the last play of a very close bowl game. now THAT's crazy.

Why did you use the Top 16? Could it be because Rutgers of the Big East is 16th? How about Starting at the Top 15. Then we have a diff. picture.

I also love this in baseball. Well in Tito's last 24 at bats he has hit 7 Home Runs. Very nice starting point that 24th at bat since of course that was a home run. That 8th home run came in the 66th at bat from present, so you certainly dont want to say that actually in Tito's last 65 at bats, he has hit 7 home runs. This kind of reading of stats is funny.

OK. So I am nuts. I just think stats and such are so easy to make a certain point look better than it really is.

Anyways... The SEC is very tough again. They will beat up on each other like always. The toughest Conf. away games in the country are in the SEC. And they have been for a while now.

Well I could have used the top 24 and included 2 from the WAC. I think that if you are rated in the top 16 in the country then you may be ok. I get tired of hearing how great the SEC is and how the rest of the country is no good. Florida, LSU, Auburn, and Georgia and Tenn are consistently good but what about KY, Miss St, Ol Miss, Vanderbilt who are consistently bad? It is not like they play every good team in the conference every year. There is a lot of depth to the conference because there are a lot of good teams but there are a lot of other teams throughout the country that would do just fine in the SEC.

i think the sec tried to blow it's own horn a lot because they feel slighted on a nationwide level. hard to say tho that by trying to elevate themselves, that they are saying the rest are no good.
and so true about those four teams--they are perennial losers...
