5% of Octave's winnings will be donated to the Make a Wish Foundation.

I don't see Lady Joanne lasting 10 furlongs. I mean she's by Orientate...and she has a front running/press the pace style.

I also think Folk will be hard pressed by Lady Joanne, Moon Catcher, and Octave. Tough Tiz's Sis might have some speed as well.

I'm liking a Lear's Princess over Panty Raid exacta.

Panty Raid looks like a good turf horse to me. I think she is special enough to keep on the turf. She certainly has a shot here so its hard to turn down huge opportunities.
Octave is tough as well and likely the better of the two on dirt. It will be interesting to see how Octave finishes at 10furlongs.

I'm sticking with Octave.
Octave, Panty Raid, Folk box.
Not sure who to throw in for the super.
This is a nice race, really hard to pick.

Can I ask a question about pronunciation? Lady Joanne's name, to me, seems fairly obvious...at least until the announcer (in two races, I assume same track but I can't remember) and at least one of the guys at TVG pronounced it "Lady Joanie"...where are they getting "Joanie" from? Is that seriously it?

how did anyone not hit that trifecta?

lady joanne to lear's princess to octave was an immortal lock!

i thought that tri would pay closer to 17.70 than the 177 it paid!

the bigger lock though would have been the super if they had one in there

i have to go see who won the del mar oaks now.

Tell me about it, I foolishly convinced myself that Folk was live so only got it for $1. I was so against Panty Raid hitting the board and when she was 2/1 early I really wanted to load up against her but having had a bad day I couldn't do it.

Hmm who wants to be the first to tell the owner's wife she's pronouncing her own name wrong? Of course then you'll have to go have a word with Ian (for some reason pronounced Eye-an) Ziering. It's like going 'hi Matt'..'actually it's pronounced Mate.' To be fair I bet it's really more a French pronunciation that's been b@stardized in her case. There's a figure skater in Canada that spells it Joanie but says it with a French flair and 3 syllables.

Okay maybe she won't be 10-1....but her beyer numbers are low compared to the rest of this field so I think 6-1 is a reasonable guess.

Though I'm a little concerned that there will be pace pressure, I think Folk will win. I liked her race just as much as Octave's last time. I know it didn't get a big (BSF) fig -- and I haven't seen the sheet numbers -- I thought the 1-2-3 horses ran well.
True, and it will probably feature more blacktype than the field of the Travers.
