GAI Waterhouse's dual Epsom Handicap winner Desert War has been ruled out for the spring after tests revealed a strain in his near foreleg. Being set for the Cox Plate, Desert War finished last in a trial on Tuesday and was sore yesterday. "He's out for the spring but he will be back for the autumn," Waterhouse stable representative Marette Farrell said. "It's not major, it's just a timing thing." |
