Well, that's good news. We'll have to see if we can drag Chuck or Steve away from all the Saratoga excitement for comment later tonight perhaps.

Sniper, does Chuck have a daily peppermint ingestion limitation?

It rained hard just before her work....the track was sealed at the break...I got one pic of her from the backside as she was galloping up to start her work (at about the 3/4 pole)...the rain had almost stopped when she worked...If the pic looks at all good I'll post it here later this evening...

Hopefully the work wasn't as bad as it looks on paper.

I hope Chuck can give us the low down

if this is her last race before he gives her time off I feel obligated to go
but if she isn't ready I would hate to make the trip.

Work was fine. The track was sealed after the renovation break and the day's only heavy downpour ensued seconds after the tractors finished. Cherie called the track sticky and heavy and Sumwon got over it well.. finshed strong.. galloped out nicely.. came back swell.

As for finishing the sophomore campaign, a good effort Sunday would likely yield a trip to Philadelphia Park in September.

I think Chuck eluded to it when I met with him but can you fill us in why only one more race over the next six months? Or is this just a freshening for the fall campain?

Thanks,

Spyder

Spyder,

I beleive it was mentioned that they would give her some time off and head to New Orleans for the Fairgrounds meet. I believe that meet opens on Thanksgiving day.

Boy did it pour... Got caught in that with the kids coming from car. Can't imagine her time is comprable to runners that avoided that downpour.

The balance of the day's weather was awesome.

The pic that I got of SWLY at the 3/4 pole yesterday morning did not come out at all well...

Here is a pic (not of SWLY) that I took before the rain...before the break...the next time Chuck sends her over to the main track I'll try to get one of her from this vantage point..

the horses were the only thing you couldn't make out.

The track looks well travelled
now I know why Chuck waits until after the break.

I thought he just liked to sleep in

Sounds good! She'll get alot out of that, too, hopefully.

It's interesting that surface switches don't seem to bother her much at all.

Let's hope that this week she starts being a pain, and giving her hotwalkers hell - then we'll know she's really ready to go Saturday if the race fills!

PS - Thanks for the pic of Saratoga, Dave!

Just got back from Track and visit to see Sumwon. She looks great and is super nice in person. We are hoping to swing back to say hello again in the AM. Will she be jogging tomorrow morning?

Great time at the races over the last two days. Everyone we met was great (especially Steve who could not have been more accomodating).

Can't wait to do it again next weekend!
