Default My favorite spot

There's a spot downstairs in the clubhouse area, maybe the Jim Dandy bar someone else mentioned, of about 15 tables that's a bar right next to the walk out to the track from the paddock. From there you can slip upstairs (when they are not guarded) to be at the top of the 2nd floor clubhouse and stand and watch the races. You can get everywhere you want which is what makes Saratoga great. I like to be all over the place...including my first visit to Carolina BBQ which is a great place to sit by the way.

The Travers Bar. My preference if I can procure a table. Second choice is the ground floor of the Carouel

Can't possibly imagine being at the track and not watching them run live. Tried watching from the BBQ patio last year and thought it was kind of silly to watch a race on TV when the actual horses were less than a 1 minute walk from where I was standing.

So, my answer is, backyard until post parade and rail or seats for the race.
