I have found this site to also be enlightening. what we see and experience in terms of terrorism is only the tip of the iceberg.

What really is sad and i'm sorry that i don't have the link to it anymore but i think my mom might,is the differential in the amount of noble prize winners that are jewish and those that are Muslim is staggering. Many people are unaware that the first cell phone was invented by Motorola in Israel and the first remote control was invented their and countless other things that we use everyday in our lives as well as medical advances. After WW11 it could have been very easy for Jewish people to blame everyone for their fate but instead they decided not to play the blame game and do something positive and constructive with their lives. As in any walk of life if all you do is concentrate on the past and blame others for your plight you'll never have a future. Some of you might think i'm biased because i'm jewish but i think this is reality.

being a history buff, and having read untold books on different european countries spanning over a thousand years, it is amazing to me, and appalling, how much the jewish people have had to suffer--and continue to suffer. and in the name of religion, in the name of god. it's the ultimate, and the worst, irony. i watched the video link above yesterday, right after it was posted. very sad, very touching but at the same time, i think it gives hope. that might sound crazy, but i have to say that the jewish people have got to be the most resilient people in the world. no matter what, they just keep going.

Thank you.A perfect example of that is my father. At 16 years old both his parents were deported. While children at that age are supposed to be playing ball he had to flee the Nazis.I honestly don't know if i could've done what he did. He's 83 years old and has had 2 hip replacements, quad surgery, prostate cancer and various other ailments.I hope i look as good him and have all my faculties at that age.

you're welcome!
i have to also say tho, that i'm always embarrassed to be a human being when i see pictures from the holocaust. we're supposed to be the 'civilized' animal. boy, that's a laugh when you look at things people have done to their fellow man.

but hopefully finally the jewish people have found their place, and will keep it--and in peace!

your father sounds like quite a guy by the way.
