The Hackwood is a interesting race and much of it depends if we get the rain we are expecting today and how much of it. If the weather forecasters are correct, the whole country could expect at least an inch of rain!!!!

There has been heavy rain in London this morning. The Reverence camp will be keen to see as much rain fall as possible for him. If the word "firm" is still in the going description tomorrow, i doubt he will run.

If Newbury escapes the rain and the going is very fast, i wouldn't rule a big run from Fayr Jag at big odds.

Well, say goodbye to all the firm ground lovers...... ground there now is Soft and it's still raining.

More than likely no racing at all there today, and tomorrows card looks in doubt, too.

Newbury waterlogged. Racing abandoned today, doesn't look like tomorrow's card will go ahead tomorrow either.

That's a shame.

I thought the weather must have packed in when I turned on the TV for the cricket and saw a replay of a match from more than 10 years ago.

Definitely not, I just saw a live update and quite a lot of it is underwater! Those are some impressive puddles.

And back to the 1996 match again.

It has brightened up a touch there. I'm not sure if rain is actually falling anymore, which is a good sign. On the other hand, London is in for more downpours this afternoon.

All this rain does is provide more certainty that the test will end in a draw (which was always likely anyway) igven that both sides look unlikely to be able to take 20 wickets between them.
