When absolutely no one goes out for the lead, what the hell are you supposed to do on a quick filly from the outside stall?

The first quarter was easy, but they started to pressure her after that and the second quarter was very fast. Willie took back and let Powder River and Lady Eloquence grab the lead, but not quite soon enough, because she still had to zip the second quarter. Not blaming him, he gave her a very good ride, she just seems unlucky.

Probably, the 3yo filly crop is so terrible that anyone that wins an allowance can easily step into stakes company without embarassing themselves.

To be clear - those fractions were fifths ...

from the chart:

Fractions: :23.4, :46.3, 1:10.4, 1:23.2, 1:36.2 (:23.89, :46.79, 1:10.85, 1:23.42, 1:36.50)

man that is a tough one!!

she looked like the easy winner at the top of the stretch...

I wonder if Steve knew it is bad luck to be interviewed before the race (according to my horse owner friend John Perrotta).

yeah, we do. she's doing great, lots of excitement for sure!!! i know she's done more than we could have hoped for...hitting the board in allowances, paying her way and we're having a ball!

best $500 i have EVER spent. i'm just waiting for them to pull the trigger on the next one, this has been great.

How about the Glass Slipper at Ellis, part of the Claiming Crown, with a 75,000 purse?

They should have finished where they did. They were no-hopers.

I don't think that the post position was really a negative factor at all...the pace, and that she never really got much of a breather the whole race may have been her downfall...still in all she ran great...CS had her ready and had her placed well...maybe next time...hope she comes back sound and eats up well.

She did run a winning race, no doubt about it. Optimal effort, certainly

I don't have a probelm with how she ran. Maybe the 46 days played a factor...probably not. She's a quick horse and I thought Willie rode her fine. From the 9 hole she got very good position. She looked like a winner at the top of the stretch to me...the other horse just ran her down. I agree about the lead change problem...that could be the half length right there.
