I am so proud to have had the opportunity to see this horse run in person. I was at the 1984 Golden Gate Handicap where he defeated the local horse Silveyville. I still have the t-shirt. I was a youngster, but I had my $20 to win on him at 1-2. What a horse.
They brought him out to school in the paddock between races during the Friday card, and he would stop and pose for pictures. I never saw a horse do that before. He knew exactly what was going on. |
