According to the Web site gates open at 11:15. I hope to make the first race but would like to check into my hotel and ditch the rental car first. Then I will have no worries (responsibilities) the remainder of the day.

That is correct, gates open at 11:15 but if you're inclined and have the morning free you can stand along the rail (at the top of the turn where an ambulance will be staged) and watch w/o's. Also downtown Arlington Heights has numerous good choices for breakfast.

The gates are open for works I think. About 4 years ago, Million Day I was in line at like 8:30am(when I wasn't a baller and I needed to sprint for a table) and the gate was open so I just walked in and wandered around for a while, and watched the works, and then sat down when they were over, no one bothered me.......

I could have just gotten lucky that some moron left the gates open but whatever. Dell, is that were fans watch the works from?

it's where I watch from (rarely). Usually the gate by the back of the paddock is open (mainly for Levy) employees and you can get in there but I don't think they want people wandering around the facility. Tim, if he jumps on can give the difinitive answer.
