Awful, awful, awful...the older handicap division is a complete wreck without him. Six straight G1 wins- truly a champion.

Oh no...

Well, I'm sorry that we won't see him run anymore, but I'm glad that it wasn't worse than that.

he didn't even show he was hurt until well after the workout.

Guess it's a good thing they get to retire him

damn. was very much looking forward to him running the table again this year. an exciting horse, i enjoyed him a LOT. he was much the best of the older horses, and will be missed.
best of luck to him in the shed. but that's not nearly as gratifying for fans!

Well hopefully they will bring "my" Premium Tap back over here since the division is wide open. Gosh that would be sweet. But Invasor was a good one to say the least.

This sucks.Glad the horse is okay. Now,WHEN will these damn breeders start improving the breed so these horses will be more sound and be able to race longer? This **** happens EVERY year to the top horses and it is getting really old.Polytrack is NOT the answer,IMO.Better breeding is.

I think you're underestimating the difficulty in "improving the breed."

That REALLY sucks. . . but there are two positives-

1. From a betting perspective the handicap division has gotten a lot more interesting.

2. I really think he'll have a positive influence on the breed in America as a sire. . .

got nothing to do with improving the breed. invasor injured the same ankle at two, and was given time to heal--as you could see, he came back good as new. of course an injury this time around--well, he'd be off til next year. they gave it a good run, but obviously this time around retirement is the answer.

Default That's terrible......

Invasor, a world class CHAMPION! Wow, this does throw the division wide open. Will truly miss watching Invasor run, Kieran has got to be totally bummed at this point, thoughts out to him and his team. One of the best, i've ever seen, the sport will miss Invasor tons. Thanks for the thrills you provided fans all over the world.

I will write the Jockey Club of Uruguay and voice your displeasure over their breeding practices.

Well, at least I don't have to stress about how to sneak out of setting up for my friend's engagement party so I can get to Belmont in time for the Suburban.

: I'd rather have stressed. Ah well. It was fun while it lasted. Thanks Invasor. You're still da beeeeessssst...

No where near the magnitude of losing Invasor in McLaughlin's stable, but the DRF says Jazil was also sent home to Shadwell for x-rays.
