True, but off level weights i think Scorpion would have won. The really heavy rain looks like it arrived too late for scorpion

Ive backed Amadeus in the Golden Jubilee...everything seems in his favour (one negative is that Ive backed him).

Same here. I've just had a crafty tenner on at 9's.

Yeah, i know, but i have always said that when two horses run that close when one is carrying more weight than the other that it must make some kind of a difference, whether that is the difference between winning and losing i can't say for sure. Today for instance, over 12 furlongs on slowish ground i'd say the 5lbs made more of a difference that it normally would.

Can't have fancied the winner there even with slower ground..........

Bad race for me with the place bets i had too.

Amadeus Wolf, well..... what happened there? Very disappointing

the winner was backed in from 16s to 9s. Amadeus' run certainly was disappointing.. I was expecting much better than that. he has form on soft ground and he just didnt pick up when push came to shove..

Could have been, but on all known recent form he had plenty to find with some of the other runners. Not sure if this will be a race to take on face value really. Miss Andretti obviously didn't handle the condition, Amadeus Wolf didn't run his race (had beaten both Soldier's Tale and Red Clubs easily at York), Asset run a huge race on ground which wouldn't suit. It was a strenge race and i certainly won't be reading into this form much at all.

Nothing in this race that will beat the July Cup winner though
