I was there two weeks ago. Got some great guidance from Kimmeaster, Lemoncrush, Hoof Hearted, Pmayjr (thanks guys, had a blast - I would put Canterbury on my "return to" list).

The facility was nice. Very clean. Good viewing area around the paddock. I pretty much roamed throughout the day, so I'll defer to the seating/restaurant advice to the locals.

Betting-wise, speed definitely held up very well. Both grass races were won by horses that were stabled at Tampa last winter. And Derek Bell was good to follow for a couple of nicely priced winners.

You should have a great time. Best of luck.

I kinda think the public is starting to catch on to Derek Bell now. After bringing home some big prices, they are starting to bet him again, but I would keep my eyes open for when the public slips and he sneaks past with another longshot.
Quarterhorses:Anything ridden by Tad Leggett. He is Ed Hardy's go to guy.Keep an eye on Jennifer Schmidt, and Helen Vanek has appeared on the scene now.Outside posts do well in the quarters.

What's funny, is you never used to get a price on Derek Bell. Everey year for about 5 years straight, it was Derek Bell and Seth Martinez competing for every riding title, riding every favorite.

It seriously has to be the Tampa scandal has lost Bell some top mounts. But it doesn't seem to matter, because he keeps winning, and now he's winning at nice prices.

I'm gonna head out tonight for buck night. The Canterbury fields have been a little short (except maiden and turf races) for the most part. Not California short, but still short. So simulcasting on the 3rd floor (usualy the restauarnt area) is where you'll find me.

I didn't end up going, but I thought the storms missed Shakopee to the south? I'm in E.P. and they missed us...
