This was early in my OTB "career" This guy notices that I am always trying to get some huge longshot home. He mentions this horse running at Delaware that used to run at Calder. Looked awful. Said, he was a horse to watch according the DRF. I put $10 bucks on him to win and show. Horse goes off 80-1 waited for the rail to open up on the turn, shot through and left 'em like they were standing still.
The sad thing was he only included the horse int he double and the horse that was supposed to be a lock in the 2nd - ran 2nd. He didn't get a dime. Same day later I tried to return the favor. Pointed out a horse that was working bullets. He was 25-1. I tell him and the horse goes off at 15-1. Always wondered if I told the wrong guy ![]() We've been friends ever since.

Was at Fairmount Park when i was 15 im now 21. My dad had taken me to the paddock for the fourth race. There was a filly who i dont remember her name but She was 10-1 and I heard the jockey and the groom talking and the groom asked, is she gonna hit the board, and the jockey said, "Oh Yea" I told my dad he should place a show wager on her we didnt and she ended up 3rd not as good as yall's story but im still young got a long ways to go.
