Lawyer Ron is nothing special in my opinion. . . I like Silent Name, Corinthian, and Half Ours- all prices and all very good horses. . .

I am suprised I have not heard more, as this looks to be very interesting on paper. I will be interested to see how well Silent Name performs. Sun King is back... Latent Heat...

The "rabbit" is comical. This horse will be lucky to even sniff the lead in the Met.
Anyone remember when Strike the Gold's rabbit Loach could get no closer than 3rd or 4th early in one of his races? |

I think tommorrow is the day to finally get Sun King his grade I.
I am hoping that Contessa runs AccountForTheGold. There is a ton of speed in the race. Silver Wagon is 0-everything going a mile and at Belmont. Dont like him. Gonna use SK with Corinthian...Political Force....maybe use Lawyer ron for third in tris. |

Well cant be worse than last year rabbit!! ICY ATLANTIC
They get him for EC, then runs like a 1 min half mile. Then they decide he can actually run and decide to run him like a real race horse |

I often try to find a closer who could benefit from the "rabbit" other than the one he's meant for. Sun King applies to that idea perfectly. I think he's a major player tomorrow. However, should Prado be able to stalk just behind the projected hot pace Lawyer Ron will be very, very tough. Terrific race all in all. NT |

The rabbit is coming out of a very slow paced sprint----however, they put a three furlong work in him yesterday...and he has shown real sprint speed in races on the go back...I'd assume he's fast enough to make the lead as well.

I guess he could make the lead, but I doubt any of the other horses will pay any attention to him. Pretty much any horse in the field can be ahead of him after 1/2 mile if the rider so chooses.

I'll be at Belmont tomorrow for one of the coolest races of the year, and can't wait. The field looks great (although I haven't 'capped it yet), weather looks great, carryover looks interesting. Should be a good time.

Corinthian - hasn't run a race around one turn since he was 2, hasn't had to deal with a pace faster than 47 & 3 (except in the race where he had an excuse and lost by 8 l.) Half Ours - has run in only 2 graded races; won by a half over the world beater Park Avenue Ball (sarcasm intended) at 7f, beaten by Wanderin Boy at 8.5f (2 turns). Handicapping with sales prices? |

Silent Name has won a Grade 1 mile turf race. Plus he won on the front end on Polycrap in his last. Of course dirt is an unknown for him. At odds of 8-1 or above he's worth a shot. I think he is an interesting horse in this race. |

I understand your points about Silent Name and that is why I think we need at least 8-1 in order to bet him. But I've explained in past posts that the horse has class. He's won graded stakes on turf and polycrap. His sire was a pretty good horse and was a top sire in Japan. As a lonshot I think he should be included in the mix.
Accountforthegold is a nice horse on the inner dirt or a race where he can control the pace. If you think he's the uncontested controlling front runner you might hit the jackpot. I think he'll just add to the hot pace of this race. That hot pace will be Lawyer Ron's undoing. There will not be an easy slow pace to stalk or lead here the Lawyer Ron. I believe this race sets up perfectly for Sun King. I think the pace will be demanding and I can see Sun King finally getting his Grade 1 win. |

Equibase has Mr. Ump at 3-1 M/L...
That has got to be a mistake. Anyways I was looking at the Belmont card at Equibase and think I might actually get the PP's and cap it tonight and tomorrow morning and go place some bets at the track. I finally have a bit of time and I recognize some old names I might like to see again. |

A speed horse that is cutting back in distance is never to be overlooked, and you already mentioned the COntessa factor. It's tough to see him putting up the same number as last out, so I see a slight regression numbers wise. His last out, on the "easy" lead, wasn't as fast as it will be tomorrow. The fractions will be cut out more like his 3rd back when beaten as the heavy favorite. IMO

I agree with you... Stands no chance, at every angle. I'll be wagering this race heavily tomorrow. Leaning towards Latent Heat, with Political Force being my value play. I vow to give up horse racing (for a month) if Aftg hits the board, for my handicapping would be deemed worthless to me.
