With the rain, i'd have to say Peeress, but Nannina (same owners and my former employers) has been very well touted, but any more rain would be a negative for her, but a big positice for Peeress

Ten left..... go Peeress!

PEERESS TO GO FOR LOCKINGE AGAIN

By Keith Hamer,
Sporting Life

Peeress may attempt to become the fourth dual winner of the Juddmonte Lockinge Stakes in the last 50 years at Newbury on Saturday.

The Cheveley Park Stud-owned mare, trained by Sir Michael Stoute, was among 10 horses left in the Group One race over a mile at the confirmation stage.

Should she take her chance, the five-year-old could join other back-to-back winners - Pall Mall (1958-9), Welsh Pageant (1970-71) and Soviet Line (1995-6).

Her owners also have the John Gosden-trained Nannina left in the race, while Stoute has another acceptor in Jeremy.

Red Evie, who short-headed Peeress in the Matron Stakes at Leopardstown last September when Nannina was fourth, could run for Michael Bell.

Pam Sly is considering the feature for last year's 1000 Guineas winner Speciosa and there is a possible French challenger in Passager, trained by Criquette Head-Maarek.

The sole Irish entry is Aidan O'Brien's Marcus Andronicus, while Godolphin have left in the former Italian-trained Ramonti, third in the Hong Kong Mile in December.

The 10 possibles are completed by Jeremy Noseda's Secret World and Illustrious Knight, trained by William Knight.

Peeress to win, i hope she can anyway.

If she doesn't do it, i expect Jeremy to collect the prize as he is so adaptable as regards to postioning during the race and ground, it all seems to come alike to him.

yeah, i agree with you. I think that Peeress is old and wise enough to be good enough on any type of ground..One I'm wary of is Marcus Andronicus.. If he's like the O'Brien 3year olds and displays huge improvement from 1st run to 2nd then he'll do very well..

Ive found this a difficult race to figure out, but settled on Peeress.. I was incling towards Ramonti as he has bags of class and Godolphin are getting back into form..
