Seeking the Dia and Time Paradox.... not a huge field (8) but a nice win all the same.....

Considering his form going into it, which was bad, his odds of 4:1 are hardly an endorsement of the overall quality of the field.

His record in the Far East is admirable. His win the other day was mediocre. He is extremely unlikely to be a factor in the Met if he should run.

The rail at Belmont on opening day was golden. If people want to believe Utopia is a legit threat in Met Mile why argue? I thought Sun King ran a strong race considering he did not have a listed workout longer than 4 furlongs prior to the Westchester, and it was his first race since the BC Classic. He was also sandwiched between Political Force who came in on him a few times and the golden rail runner Utopia. I think this race was a good prep for Sun King and I believe he'll improve off this race.

Again, I'm not here to argue but you mention Sun King's first race back since the BC?

This was Utopia's first start since World Cup Day of '06 (March 25)...

Just wanted to mention that.

You keep saying " I'm not here to argue " and then you argue with people.

Pretty silly.

There's nothing wrong with arguing....it's what we do here. Just stop pretending you are somehow above it. You obviously aren't. Join the club.

I will happily join the club and argue if anyone cares to argue about Godolphin, Ace, Fallon, or other things i feel strongly about.

You can think that's what i'm doing. That's cool. I'm just tossing in random thoughts as they occur. I think it's fair to say the last time he ran.....

I like this horse. If he runs, he wins, but that's just my feeling. I'm wrong quite a bit of the time.

Soooo..... wanna fight about Godolphin... saviors of international racing?

You've already joined both the club and this arguement. We disagree about Utopia. No big deal....we'll see in two weeks assuming he runs. I doubt he will but you never know.

He's the greatest horse who ever lived..... he just keeps forgetting how to win.

It's only been since 2004..... give him some time.

He returned home this week from Dubai..... hopefully he'll race again and not be retired. Not yet.....

As an aside, here's an excerpt from a UAE press release.....

Godolphin’s Utopia aimed at Metropolitan Handicap
May 10, 2007

Utopia, winner of the 2006 Godolphin Mile (Gr.2) and the recent Westchester Handicap (Gr.3) for Godolphin, will be aimed at the 114th running of the prestigious one-mile Metropolitan Handicap (Gr.1) at Belmont Park on May 28.

Godolphin assistant trainer Rick Mettee confirmed on Wednesday that the seven-year-old son of Forty Niner, who could be a prized addition to the Darley America stallion roster at the conclusion of his racing career, will try the Met Mile, known as a race that has yielded significant sires.

“It’s going to be a tough spot, but he’s a seven-year-old and we’d really like to try to win a Grade 1 with him in this country,” Mettee said. “I wish I had a little more time with him, but he’s done well since the Westchester (on May 2) and there’s only one Met Mile.”

I would never wish any harm to a horse no matter who owns them, but I can honestly say that my favorite thing to watch in horse racing is the arabs get beat. I understand that the money that they pump into the American breeding program could never be matched, but I just can't root for them.

It was a just a figure of speech. We're not arguing or fighting. We're just passing along thoughts and ideas about the horses.
