Well if some say no to the derby some may scratch out of the race.

Wow. This looks like a really good betting race if there are not a lot of defections. The strange distance, coupled with the large field of horses with similar abilities/limitations, should make it a tough (and therefore potentially profitable) race.

what exactly is the inducement to run in this race? Its not graded. Most of them dont want to run back in the derby a week later. Is there some sort of prestige value to this?

yeah i was a little confused myself but its 1 turn even if its a mile so its a glorified sprint either way
