So, yes
Curlin is an automatic toss for me. I'll let him beat me... I'm not impressed.

Your not impressed with a horse that has 3 wins in 3 starts and 2 runaway stakes victories, one of those in a $1,000,000 race?

hmmm.

I could agree with you if you said "I dont think he has the foundation for this race". But I can't agree with "I'm not impressed"

Looks can be deceiving. You just like him because you think he's the second coming of Smarty Jones.

lets not bring Smarty into this..

What have other horses this year done that "looks" better than Curlin. I cant think of any this year, except for possibly the battle of the tampa bay derby.

The only other time any of the other entrants have "looked" better was when they were two, and SS won the BCJuvi.

So I guess I am saying.. IMHO.. the only horse in the race that has "looked" better than Curlin is Street Sense.

And what I'm saying is that I'm not impressed with 'looks' for a derby contender. I want a hard knocking horse that's been in a real field and had to fight out a win. To me, that's more impressive for a derby contender... JMO. Like I said, if he beats me, I'll eat crow. I did that with Smarty Jones and I'll do that again if Curlin hits the board.

Well, I will put in an order for one crow. How do you like it cooked?

Curlin has done nothing wrong, but he's beaten nobody (which obviously isn't his fault).

I just can't support a horse who hasn't faced and/or beaten a single contender that will be lined up next to him on May 5 (other than Teufelsberg, possibly).
I'm also secretly hoping he gets a terrible post position so I can toss him with less weighing on my consceince.

Just throwing it out there, but Smarty Jones definitely had to fight at least a little in his Arkansas Derby win. I cant' say the same for Curlin or Bellamy Road or some of the other blowout winners of races in recent years coming into the Derby.

Not impressed! I can understand if you toss him for being short or lack of preperation but if any horse has been impressive its Curlin. It might be one of them things . Doing the right thing for all the wrong reasons.

I'm not impressed with him to win the Derby... Was he visually impressive? Yes. Visually impressive doesn't always equal a Derby winner.
