i just wonder if rainbow/push went to said sponsors, and 'encouraged' them to pull out....or else they may have been the ones boycotted. certainly seems to be common practice for that group.

Could have. Would not doubt that they did. Then it is up to companies to see if they take a hit. These are not small companies that pulled out. And they usually have pretty smart people to assess possible loss of revenue.

It may have been driven over the top. But bottom line is it very well could be bad for business. I dont think GM, Proctor and Gamble, etc... want to be viewed a certain way and lose income. And they lose income in this situation if the public reacts negatively and does not buy products. WE are the public.

If enough people/organizations would have contacted these companies and stated we will buy more of your products if you dont pull the ad bucks...

THis is my take.

I would love to be a fly on the wall in Corporate Headquarters. "Our stockholders would not appreciate...
