I've mostly been fascinated with the way the BC Juvenile has acquitted itself as an actual key race for this year's Trail, when normally it has little bearing on the Road to the Roses. Your top four finishers in the BCJ are arguably going to be among the top five or six wagering choices in the Derby. Last time anything like that happened? Ever?

I've never had so much fun on the Trail than I am having this year.
The trail itself has been one of the more enjoyable to watch for sure,no question...I only meant that it's the results and the subsequent placing that appears to be lending itself to a less than spectular event come the first Sat in May. 7 horses above 500k in earnings, 3 of which may not see the race - Circular Quay (speculation regarding his soundness abounds), Stormello , and Birdbirdistheword (apparently looking toward the Preakness)...The end result is a mundane field, which was my only point. Notional moves up to #5 with the exit of these three; hence should command some respect and with that a shorter than deserved price.

He's off the trail with a bone bruise.

I just hope the Derby winner is still around in August so Ketchikan can rip him a new one in the Traver's.
