If he's ready, he's better class than most in here. Class counts at 12f on turf and Pop Rock, Youmzain, Red Rocks and Sir Percy have it. I'd include Laverock, but he doesn't look like he has acclimatized at all well to Dubai. Quijano doesn't have it - he was a handicapper in Germany (read allowance/optional claiming/minor stakes horse) who never dared try vs. the big boys.

Would be my second choice!

the fact that Pop Rock ran so well over 2m in the melbourne cup puts me off him. Others surely have more speed than him.. Im concerned that Youmzain will get done for pace so might have a saver on Laverock or Vengence..

Makybe Diva, 3-time winner of the Melbourne Cup (2 miles) also won a G2 at 7f. Forego won at 7f and 2 miles. Pop Rock just missed at 11f last out. I wouldn't worry about him not having 'enough lick.'
