Unless one horse had real trouble in a race, and both Any Given Saturday and Street Sense had perfect trips, decisions this close are pretty much ties as far as handicapping is concerned unless one horse has PROVEN to have a disinterest in winning.

Both of Any Given Saturday's losses have been very close decisions to the two horses that many considered the leaders of this crop. How he isn't a MAJOR contender at this point is beyond me. I would bet money that Todd Pletcher considers him his best Derby horse.
Been tested twice.Failed twice.Close ain't winning. All I can tell you is that what I saw Saturday was not new.I KNEW HE WAS GUNNA LEAVE IT SHORT.Same exact look he had in the race last year.Same look that Alydar kept showing(I can do this...let me try next time..I am almost there.....I'm close.) He isn't good enough............SUCKER HORSE...............IF ever there was a SUCKER horse,it is this one.

Pretty impressive that you're comparing him to Alydar at this point.

With that said, this is not a sucker horse, Scuds. This isn't Perfect Drift we're talking about here.

This is phenomenal, I'm reading the name Perfect Drift and the term--sucker horse--in the same post. Unbelievable.

CJ you would do well with 1/100th of his lifetime earnings in your bank account!!!!!!!!!!!! Please.

Yeah because she's not talking about Perfect Drift from a wagering standpoint.

I am here to flat out predict that Cowtown Cat will without a doubt finish 16th in the Derby. No question about it. 16th. I honestly see no way he could finish any better or any worse than that. He is clearly the 16th best horse at 10f of this crop.

I'm a huge fan of Perfect Drift, Grits. The horse is a herd animal, though and has shown time and time again (much to my dismay) that he's a follower and not a leader. That is what I meant.

That's cool Cg I understand. This is a grand racehorse, one that means a great deal to so many people. It's a gift to us all to see one campaign as long as Drift has.

I agree, 100%. I love the horse and I even lost some money on him in the BCC. Lori will testify.

Alydar kept suckering people into playing him in the Triple Crown Races. After all, wasn't he right there pretty damn close to Affirmed? Just bad luck (I guess) that he couldn't get to him.Couldn't be that Alydar wasn't good enough.

WTF are you talking about? If he was always losing to inferior horses you might have a point. Do you honestly think the horse knew that his nose was three inches short on Saturday. I think that the suckers were all the people that thought he was going to easily dispatch Street Sense. After the race I came away more impressed with AGS than I was before the race. I thought he was dead game. I thought once Street Sense started rolling he would open up by daylight.

Being so lightly raced, and running against the best of his generation its ridiculous to claim he leaves it short. Is every horse that finishes second twice a SUCKER horse? He's raced five times, won three times and second twice. His maiden win was by a nose so right from the beginning your idea that he always leaves it short is wrong. He has also won by open lengths as well.

Looked like AGS would have won with added distance, Are you saying you knew the race had to be longer to see him win? By the way, who at this stage is better than AGS, besides SS by a poohair!! Six weeks to go amigo, horseys still have room to improve!!

PG'85: "Well as you can see here Horse A is the greatest horse to ever live. In fact he is probably the greatest 4-legged creature in the history of this planet. Or probably any planet."
KRIM: "Well that is all certainly true, but he is probably sore. He may win 4000 G1s, but from what I've seen on TV, he is sore for sure."
PG'85: "That's it! I am never speaking at one of these seminars again ever!"
KRIM: "I knew he would have a short career."
PG'85: "I'm back."
KRIM: "I knew you would be."
