Does anyone have any thoughts on how successful Deputy Storm will be? (He stands at Northview in Maryland as well.) He's a Forestry and built very similar to Discreet Cat. I'm curious to see how well he does.

He was suppose to stand last year but they didn't get enough bookings because in Pa. there was a Forestry son named Congressionalhonor who was standing. He is a Gr3 winning son out of Quiet Dance who is the dam of the late Saint Liam. He was booked to close to 100 mares last year. We have a 2week old filly by CHonor. Cajun a nice looking sire they had at Northview was Dance With Ravens who has an outstanding pedigree

Thank you for the info. I was just curious because his conformation is so similar to Discreet Cat's while Congressionalhonor's is not. What do you think of your new filly?

I'm familiar with Dance With Ravens... his dam is the half to Smart Strike (sire of the great and powerful ENGLISH CHANNEL ) and also the dam of Dance Brightly, who sired one of my fave horses of last year, Bright One. RIP.

She is pretty well put together, Her conformation looks good,
she is pretty alert and very inquisitive about her surroundings.
She looks small next to mom because mom is about 17.2 hands.
This was her first foal. The mom is by Partner's Hero and she is
booked to Domestic Dispute this year. I will post some pix in
the foal pix thread soon.

Awesome! Thanks... love seeing the new foals.

17.2 is huge for a thoroughbred mare, too!

I've seen him many times. They actually got him last year when they got Dance With Ravens (he might be the next Malibu Moon). He wasn't very popular, so they thought about racing him again, but didn't. He was as fast as they come. He is a bit smaller, but well put together. The $50k prize for being the breeder of the first winner of $100k is pretty cool. I think he'll throw young speedballs, but I'd advise to breed him to a larger mare.

How small is he? Is he under 15.2 hands?

I won't throw out a number, but he's smaller than all the other stallions there.

By looking at his picture, he appears to be around 15.1 or 15.2 (which is rather small), but it seems like a lot of mares are bigger nowadays, so if you bred a 16.1 or 16.2 hand mare to him, you'd probably be ok. Plus, (I would think) that perhaps his size wouldn't be carried down anyway, unless there was history of that in his pedigree. How big is Forestry? He's under 16 hands, right?
