Gary Messenger and Howard Oil have been around this game for a long time. Both reacted with ultimate cool & calm. Gary was unphased as you can see, went on to win the race with ease.

While it was a just result that the horse that was interfered with won the race, I wonder what the stewards would have done if the winning horse did not win? Does anyone know if there was an inquiry?

Thats a good question Solari. Funny, I was sitting in front of a bank of monitors while the race was actually going on. It was on a big screen right in front of me and did not even realized what happened. I guess because I follow the T-breds mainly and Howard Oil ( Monticello's Track Announcer ) made no mention of it. During the card I noticed the condition of the track and was surprised that they were still running as Aqueduct had cancelled their card 24 hrs. in advance. Glad nobody was hurt and they cancelled the remaining races !
