BrisNET = useless

I use Brisbet and like it. Can't hardly read a form anymore cause it's missing so much info. Like any form you have to take all in stride and use your capping skills.

Not saying I'm great...or even good, but after 35 years I know when I find a nugget and often it is based on pace figures they provide.

They are bad on rating horses changing distances.

Anyway, as the saying goes, the buck stops here and you really can't blame the brisbet or the form. In fact, I think the winners of the national handicaping contest used brisbet 8 out of the last 10 years.

Bris is not to blame for a poor day's result. Nor would the DRF be, as Spyder stated. That's a grave mistake.

If, you are relying on condensed pps, or a race summary, you have only yourself to blame, as neither are a replacement for your own handicapping of each race. Both tools are used only as an enhancement, not a replacement.

Short cuts don't pave the road to return on wagers.

You'll do better next week, hopefully.

I use Ultimate PPs. The way I do it is.
I print off the summary and then look through the PPs and make notes.

Lately their summaries have been useless

I have been doing better without. I hate when I let their Prime Power rating convince me to single a horse. Yesterday I quit looking at the damn things and got some of my money back.

Next week I may do better by not going

I use Bris religiously. I feel like I would be blind without it. Mainly I use the pace and speed numbers. Sometimes I find the Class numbers useful, but not so often.

I never even look at the Prime Power ratings, they are useless. they might help a beginner to point them in the right direction. But an experienced handicapper should be making his/her own assessments.

This is the way that I use them as well.

And AE, you will do better next week, or take a couple of Saturdays off. Do something else! Come back to it.

I really like Bris Ultimates and use the summary to for track profile and to take a quick look at run styles and pace scenarios. The one thing I really don't like is they average the figures on "Race Summary" to encompass the last three races. This produces a very misleading number as it lumps everything together including off track and turf races. Also, it won't help at all when looking for horses on the improve. They do isolate mud speed on another column and seeing the pedigree info comparison is helpful to me when going that route.
