Anyone here ever successful in getting your cable company to carry HRTV or TVG when they already carried (the other) one?

Here in Northern NJ, we have bordering towns, different cable companies, one has TVG, and the other doesn't. Another nearby town has both (I think, certainly one).

I was really psyched about getting TVG. The best day was the first! It's been all downhill from there, LOL.

The answer is very simple. If you are a big racing fan, you have to have HRTV so get DISH. Why bother with Direct TV?

Bingo.

They lose the Sunday Ticket, I'll jump ship in an instant, but as long as they have it, it's DirecTV for me.

TVG may be dying but HRTV is not exactly vibrant. Once they leave Gulfstream & SA, the show slides way down.

To me HRTV is monotone, poor picture & graphics and show to slow odds & results. The meat wil be better with CD tracks but the sizzle will be sorely lacking compared to TVG. Foolish waste of a good ting!

So long as TVG has the big New York tracks, plus Keeneland, Hollywood, Del Mar, and Oak Tree, they have the best racing April to Nov/Dec. HRTV has the best racing December to April (ie, now).

Lose the NY tracks to the new bidder and Hollywood wont commit past Sept. 2008. Take those out of the equation and TVG better go after Flagler dogs.

In fact just lose the NY tracks alone and they are in the tank. The other three meets of DM(7 weeks), Keeneland(4 weeks & 3 weeks) and Oak Tree(5 weeks) are all independents that wont want to be part of a sinking ship.

Dont forget TVG is only in 12 states. They are not the favorite ADW in California, where they have P-O'd alot of people with their stubborn bargaining tactics and fees. Lose California as an ADW state might be worse than losing any track.

I sent them an e mail asking if they would carry HRTV in the near future. They sent a reply saying that they didn't sell high definition TVs. Just goes to show you how much time they spend reading your inquire.

I'd be very surprised if Direct doesn't start carrying it now the CDI is adding to HRTV's lineup.

I sent Direct TV and HRTV an email a few weeks ago asking the same question. Direct TV gave me the runaround and said when they get more bandwith (later this yr) they will be adding channels....but they didnt get specific. HRTV replied that they have been trying to get on Direct TV for a while.

I have also emailed my cable company Cox in ref. to HRTV. Hmmm They said they didnt carry it and had no idea if it was even on the horizon. I just dont want to get into the whole Dish thing. I have friends that have the Dish and they have problems. But the way its going, I may not have much choice. I have seen a few of the HRTV shows and to say the least I was not impressed. TVG is alot nicer. I just hate being forced into the Dish to be able to see the tracks that I want to see.

Cox Cable in San Diego County and Orange County, California have both TVG and HRTV as part of their digital cable package. Get the head of customer service to do some checking. No reason for Cox in one area to have it and not another.

I just sent an email after someone told me Cox had HRTV out in Calif. They sent back a response "We have no information on this channel". I guess I am going to have to call and be on hold for 45mins to talk to a real person.

Send them this link
http://www.cox.com/ocpv/channellink/...sults_full.asp

Tell them to look at channels 335-TVG and 336-HRTV

Better yet, why not go to one of the top suits at your Cox company
If you dont ask you have no shot of getting it. If you ask or complain you might get frustrated, but you might get some action too.
Tell them that you have about 250 people in your horse racing group who would consider converting from satellite to digital cable if HRTV was made available.
Be creative and demanding

try this link if the above isnt working
http://www.cox.com/ocpv/channellink/LineupResults.asp

For some reason the links arent working correct. However, the above link click on sports and you will get there.

if not I have copied the page below
