never been to tampa, but gulfstream is beautiful. it's not a horseplayer's paradise by any stretch because it's really just a glorified casino with racing.
with that said, while the facility is sort of a shithole as far as racing is concerned (because it's so secondary), it is nonetheless a beautiful facility with lots of amenities and some of the best racing around right now. i can't wait to go back.

A related question .... Is tampa bay anything worth going to on the day of the tampa bay derby? It would require quite a bit of effort so I was wondering if it was worth it?

i will arrive in florida this saturday, but im not going to gulfstream untill next saturday i might go sat and sun if i like it and if i do ok .

I've never been to any track in Florida, I was just speaking of the racing.
You can be assured to see big names and big fields on Saturdays at Gulf. How bad can the place be? I mean everything is new. By no means does it probably match Saratoga but what track does?
