I didnt wager on the race. If I did I would have bet Mr Brownstone because I like that Guns n Roses song. His performance was an utter mess. Glad I saved money.

"We've been dancin' with Mr. Brownstone
He's been knockin', he won't leave me alone"

I wonder if CC Lopez had this song playing on his ipod while getting ready for this race?
tim,
I've liked EA for a long long time. He's done a lot for racing....so I'm a fan.
I didn't bet this time.
Might be good to see how he comes out of this one.
If retirement is in the cards, well...did his best many times.

Is there any horse that runs more consistently? none come to mind.

I get a kick out of his short little stutter steps when the gate opens.

I love that look he gets on his face for a moment that seems to say; "Huh?" and then he lopes off after the field. What a joy this horse is.

Arromanches use to be even more consistent and I bring him up because the 2 horses both were gray and both ran almost exclusively on the NYRA circuit.

Both horses won bunches of races, and both tried hard every time they hit the track. I love both of these horses.

I always imagine that when the gates open his thoughts are "hey! whats the hurry?".

then in the stretch when its too late it becomes "hey, I got a shot at this".
