I think he pretty much handles this field. The only other horse I would even consider is Arson Squad. But there is no pace in this race and Brother Derek should be able to handle this field.

I hear you on that. But Sweet Return was also winless in her last 9 starts and she won today. She got soft easy fractions and I picture the same for Brother Derek.

Arson Squad looked pretty good. I have bet that horse in his last 3 and lost. I thought he was done. But nice race by all the top 4 finishes. Pretty exciting race.

What a money burner.
Generally runs good enough to tease you that next time will be his time but so far Brother Derek is just not getting the job done.

THat said, he is also a money maker for his owner

Why dont they have BRO D sent to the lead anymore????This horse is not going to rate!!! he seems so uncomfortable being held back. Let him run his race and then cash in.

I like Dan Hendricks, but.....

I think they need a trainer change, something needs to change. That horse has shown flashes of being a racehorse, and hes way too good looking to run like that

Solis in the lead for dumb jock of the year. Gets off Derek to get on Arson Squad. Gets off Arson Squad to get back on Derek. Watches Arson Squad beat Derek. Why the move to get back on a heartless, can't-win horse like Derek? Wait till he finds a four-horse field with no pace then he'll be a winner again. Maybe.

Brother Derek is one of the worst bets you can ever make in horse racing!

This is one of those horses who will always finish 3rd or 4th and people will bet tremendous amounts of money on him each time out thinking he'll finally get his turn, when in reality he won't.

I hate to tell you this but he was never held back. He's just a slow horse. He never had quick early fractions. Just had the lead against slower horses. I thought it was unbelievale that he managed a 4th in the Ky Derby. Ofcourse it was a very distant 4th. Then 4th in the Preakness..
