Your moderators have a very steady hand, and a lot of tolerance. I do miss O-80 as even when he is wrong, you get something out of the logic that got him there, and thatis helpful when I look at the next batch of races.

Kasept, thanks from a long time admirer for the board, and to the rest of you for the insoght and laughs.
Neither do I, kiddo. I'm glad you decided to post!

Was it in the wrong subforum?

if you put up a thread that belongs in another room, it's moved. multiple threads on the same subject are combined.
as for posts being removed, they probably shouldn't have been up to start with.
ateam does just fine.

as for those who cry freedom of speech--you can say what you want, post what you want...you just might not be posting here if you don't follow the rules which apply to everyone. but you can find somewhere else to exercise your free speech rights if it's necessary!!

Hey, I also like Native Americans! (I don't use the same ethnic names, but they're pretty nice people).
Try the fry bread recipe in the DT cookbook...very good, and to think they gave us canoes, snowshoes, and the whole freakin' country!!!
Go R-d Sk-ns!!!!!!

i forgot you're not a football fan. always been a washington fan, and of course back in the day, the colts were the baltimore colts. then they disappeared in the middle of the night one night, and turned up in indy. broke a lot of people's hearts. not mine of course. i had great joy in rubbing it in to my classmates that I still had a team!

as for fry bread...i don't eat much bread. or much that's fried. but i'll take a look.

Amen! I may have freedom of speech, but if I go into someone else's house and start saying things he/she doesn't like, I'd be shown the door!

I was just about to ask that same question Gander. What did Balletto do? Was she involved in whatever got Euro banned for two weeks? Is Balletto banned for good or is she just on suspension?

my guess is even if you delete a post, it can still be seen. And if anyone you girls should know the day she crossed the line.

Just a guess though.

Mera: that's the way your mind works..always scratching for the buck! I think Steve should think about a membership charge....you think he's a chump because he's giving it away...so maybe he should recoup some of his money and sweat for a small fee....I'm sure you could sell another Bears helmut/ashtray to meet the price!

my mind is fine---i know i understand more than any mere poster (to differentiate from the "special" people) that the only way to sell ads is to prove how many readers u have

must go sell soon-been workin towards this for 6 months-GO BEARS!!!
"any mere poster"..How elitist of you, Mera! But what you meant was a slap at Steve, thinly veiled as it was! If he needs to have a membership fee to keep His baby goin....no problem here!

actually there are a number of reasons why we asked people to register...
for one it encourages new people to post, as registered members they can just spontaneaously respond rather than have to go through the process of registering before posting.
It limits the dispersal of information to registered members...we got tired of seeing posts lifted and posted at other boards to insult and ridicule Derby Trail.
If we ban or delete a member we know that that person no longer has access to the site.
The registration process has also cut down dramatically on the number of people here with multiple identities, since we now check IP's against current members before a new account is verified.

espn was good for a long time-i started posting there around war emblems derby. but it went south pretty quick a few months ago. i had started posting at t'bred times, and it disappeared due to a few rotten apples, just like espn.

i like it here-so glad steve put it together, and that he has a lot of patience!!

I posted at ESPN for almost 10 years, second longest continual poster to Chris (SCC)...the board always had troll issues and a few flamers who enjoyed personal attacks but was enjoyable because of the cross-section of horse folks who posted there...almost all the worthwhile posters moved here and Steve and those that assist him have done a wonderful job maintaining all the good aspects of the old board while eliminating the problems! Well done!!
