Its an embarassment that he got taken down by Roddick in this tournament, yet he beats Federer and Sampras. Go figure that one out. Hes a headcase.

Safin could play the best tennis of his life and it still wouldn't be enough to beat Federer. Federer's game has improved tremendously since 2005.

I would have to agree with you there Pillow Pants. Some of the shots I saw him hit last night and in previous matches lately have been out of this world. I never thought a guy that good could get better, but he apparently has.
A grand slam run is upon us. Witness greatness. As a side note, I also agree with Scuds on the talent that Marat Safin has. I saw him once in Saratoga, he was having a beer in a outside restaurant and I was running by. Hes a very huge guy. It was just before the US Open 2 years ago. |

The way Nadal has been playing the last few months, he'll be lucky to make it to the semis of the French. I like the guy and root for him. His form has been (by his standards) an utter mess lately. I know hes been hurt and such but hes lost to some people he should not be losing to.
I think Federer gets it done this year at the French. |

Nadal might win, at most, 3 more slams. His style of play invites injuries.

How many do you see Roddick winning? |

Federer is playing a man that is absolutely playing out of his skull. This should be interesting if this guy can stay focused. If he can continue to play as he has, we may see some of the best tennis ever.

Don't kid yourself,if he is really on,nobody can beat Safin.
I dont know about that Scuds. Thats a big, big if, and Federer has gotten a lot better since 2005. I agree that Safin has worlds of talent but I think you are giving him far too much credit. Hes one of very few that has weapons that can beat Federer, true. But to say Federer cant beat Safin when Safin is on, I dont agree with that. Every part of Federer's game has gotten better, most notably his return of serve, which could easily neutralize the big Russian's game. |

Federer in 3 straight sets tonight. One of the sets may be close but this is a grand slam final. Beating Tommy Haas is one thing but beating Federer on his stage is quite another. |
